# WHATS THAT COMIN' OVER THE HILL, IS IT A HAMSTER..? #

Meet our house hamster, Mojito.
NAME: MOJITO
NICKNAME: MOJO, HAMSTER
COLOUR: GINGER BROWN WITH DARK BROWN PATCH ON HEAD AND SHOULDERS AND WHITE FUR UNDERNEATH
AGE: 3.1 MONTHS
LIKES: FOOD, SLEEP, A CHALLENGE
DISLIKES: SUDDEN MOVEMENTS, BUMPY BUS RIDES

PRISON BREAK 2: WHISKERS OF DEATH

Yes, we like Mojito. We think Mojito is cute and utterly adorable. She's about 13(?) weeks old now, so really still a baby in hamster world. As to her personality, she enjoys running around in her wheel at
unsociable hours (she's a 'party animal' - heh.), eating everything i give her, (tried and tested: beansprouts, dumplings, scotch egg, tomatoes, cookies, blueberries..) climbing up vertical heights and dropping from dangerous heights, and stretching. Biiiiig loooong stretches in the morning, coupled with a surprisingly fearsome looking yawn.

One word of warning though - be careful not to look too deep into her innocent lil eyes - they hide a world of mischief that is just starting to reveal itself.

PLEASE SIR, I'D JUST TO GET A LIL FRESH AIR IS ALL...

What may seem like the sweetest hamster in the world is merely an illusion, a facade to cover up the
world's most industrious and tiniest escape artist. She'll climb, she'll hang, she'll swing, she'll dangle - and she'll inevitably fall. But with a quick sweep around her ears with her tiny little paws, she's back up again looking for the next escape route.

DAMMIT, I SWEAR THERE IS AN OPENING HERE A MINUTE AGO...

And yes that is a picture of her upside down on the roof of her cage. She had obviously noticed the hatch open a while ago and a hand miraculously descending down unto her lair that she decided if that thing can get down here, then hell i can get up there! And yet, poor fur-ball, she couldn't.

She has actually mastered the skill of, when the hatch is open, reaching up, anchoring onto the edge with her two front paws, and swinging her butt forwards and backwards until she hoists her teeny tushie up, though. Sometimes takes 2 seconds, sometimes takes 10, but always evokes a sense of aaaaw-ness.

Poetry Corner

Try and stand out! (but to fit in)
Achieve something incredible! (but try to lead an ordinary life)
Experience everything and anything! (but to stay exactly the same).

Make a little history but not a lot of fuss
Make dreams come true but keep reality in check
Make things happen for yourself
But not find heartache or pain

Live a little or learn a lot,
Take a leap of faith, don't stop to smell the roses, theresnotimetojustrelax!

....
Or why not stay
on the safe side of the tracks?

With all the stars that shine brighter than you,
and the cluttered road ahead,
Its hard to know how far to aim.

What can you do? But keep sight of where you're going
and the path from whence you came.

Looking to bank holidays

I'm looking to fully exploit all the free holidays i can get this year. I get 25 allocated, which is pretty good as far as allocations go, but if you think about it for a second, its just a demonstration of how work-obsessed the whole world is. 280 working days per year, minus 8 bank holidays (less than the rest of europe, stingey british government), = 272 days. so 25 days means one is entitled to have up to 9% of working days off. Now thats pathetic. And you get even less in Asia , like 10 days or something, which leads me to the conclusion we all have our priorities wrong. Maybe I'll be a temp - earning 500pds a day and taking the day off whenever i feel like sounds like a good life..

Easter holidays a-coming, i'm thinking of the following trip - Fly into one of three Swiss cities, going down via train to Lugano and Como. if i'm feeling ambitious, take the train all the way into Italy and perhaps Torino, as I've been to Milan and it ain't all that. And if i'm feeling REALLY ambitious, go to France and I hear Grenoble is nice, with Lyon not so far away.

In any case i ought to visit Switzerland this year. I actually got an invite to interview for a job in Private Banking in Geneva last week, which really made me yearn for it :-( but living situations...promotion prospects and future career routes are all things i need to think about before i take on my next role. Lord knows i've stayed in this bloody post far too long that they think they can exploit me like the graduate monkey slave I am. Sometimes one needs to just take a leap of faith...

Listening to: Kate Nash - Foundations.
Usually not a fan of this sort of proper-cockney london accented stuff but have to admit the song, especially the chorus is catchy and at least it has some substance amidst its story-like lyrics.
