The lazy way to update

Dear people,
My apologies, haven't updated as I promised. I kept meaning to, but the longer i left it, the more i had to blog about and the less I wanted to bother. So instead, I encourage you all to firstly open up an imagestation account if you haven't done so already, so you can access www.imagestation.com/members/ktlaw1 and see some new pictures I've uploaded from my Clogtastic adventures. I've just recently discovered blogger lets u upload pics straight off the pc so heres one below from my collection :D This is at Madurodam which is a miniature Holland model village - a big rip off at 13 euro but whatever. (And indeed, all of the friends in this picture are Asian (chinese, singaporean, korean) hmm strange how that happens.)

OK its not so exciting, but they'll be more once i start moving about a little more. So far I only have pictures from around here, Kinderdijk and The Hague but Amsterdam is following next week and before I leave there should definitely be Luxembourg and maybe Germany.

As for me, the first two weeks really p*'d me off because of multiple mosquito bites and the somewhat shocking organisation they have at the university. The bites are healed and i'm somewhat resigned to the crappy admin here so now i'm feeling much more at ease, though of course that doesnt stop my bitching that literally all the signs are in Dutch here..

The best thing here, apart from 1 lecture a week and european travel, is the people. We're all in the same boat but from all over the world, but they're all great to talk to, and i've met some people who I hope I'll be friends with for a very long time.

I'm going back to UK in October for sure, since I have to do some research with my FYP (final year project) group. I'll try get back to Torquay too, whilst I'm there - i may come back to England a couple of times depending on timing and costs. (I.e. whether i can wrangle our company sponsor to pay for my flight)

And finally, i must comment on Dutch idiosyncracies as I promised I would. Well, a couple i've noticed include their affiliation with custard (they call it 'vla'), and their tendency to replicate breakfast and lunch. Both consist of bread, cheese and ham. I was not impressed. By the way, you're twice as likely to get hit crossing the road, since as well as the cars and buses, those sneaky cyclists are going left right and centre, and the trams which whilst running, actually take priority over your sorry self.

I SHALL update more regularly, really I will..
